Belgian Centre for Human-Animal Studies

A finger points at a ladybird who is resting on a green nettle. The ladybird is rising her body towards the finger, as if to say 'hello'.

About

Belgian Centre for Human-Animal Studies (BeCHAS) is a collective connecting among others scholars, activists, artists, professionals and others who are involved and/or interested in the lives of nonhuman animals. We aim to centre nonhuman animals in our conversations by creating a platform for respectful and critical discussions.

A human is feeding a cow some grass. The picture is an over-the-shoulder shot from the human to the cow, and because of the angle, you can see the tongue of the cow, catching the grass to bring it into her mouth.
Flyer for the Seminar for Networking on Academic Interspecies Learning. The flyer holds all practical information, and is a soft yellow with a honeycomb pattern and snome line-drawings of snails.
